The South Tufas can be accessed from highway 395 HERE just before the town of Lee Vining.  They are probably the most visited because they offer easy access (there is a per person fee at the trail head) and you can walk right up to them.  You will see many photographers here, and there is a beach area where you can put your feet in the salty water if you like.
